- Landscape and atmospheric study showing loosely rendered view of Hudson River Valley and tumultuous, stormy sky. Foreground slope painted in deep green with trees at right. Terrain in middle distance an indefinite expanse of yellow, green, and grey. Above, a stormy sky features several cloud types, varied in both texture and color. A pink/red-orange band of light illuminates the lower register of the clouds.
