Keys to the Skatepark of Tampa
Object Details
- Description (Brief)
- Set of master keys to the Skate park of Tampa, a cultural hub for skateboarders on the east coast. There are six keys held on a metal ring attached to a leather key chain. In 1993, Brian Schaefer convinced warehouse owner, George Lackey to convert his 28,000 square foot building into a skate park. He was skeptical but rented out the space to Schaefer who created one of the biggest and most popular skate parks on the east coast servicing 1000 skaters per week. It is now one of the top five skate parks in the country and has been host to early X-Game competitions.
