- Description
- This jacket is part of a suit worn by Sherman Hemsley as the character George Jefferson on the television show "The Jeffersons." It is a rust colored, single-breasted, single-button suit jacket, with one (1) brown plastic button on the front at the waist. There is one (1) standard-style breast pocket at the proper left upper chest. On either side of the jacket front, below the waist, are two (2) large patch pockets. The jacket has a peaked notch collar and a wide, 5-1/2 inch lapel. The jacket has straight, full length sleeves, with three (3) brown plastic buttons at each cuff. On the verso, the jacket has one (1) center vent.
- The jacket is lined with tan-colored shiny synthetic fabric. Inside the proper right side of the jacket is a small pocket with two (2) different sized brown plastic buttons attached below. Inside the proper left side of the jacket are three (3) pockets at the torso. The top-most pocket has an additional brown plastic button sewn below it. There are four (4) labels inside the jacket, including a hanger loop at the interior center back neck reading "MADE IN FRANCE". Below the hanger loop is a designer's label for Michel Faret along with fiber content, care, and style information. On the interior proper left side above the bottom pocket is a retailer's label, a white fabric tag with black text reading "SY AMBER / EST. 1951 / SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA". A tag on the interior proper right side includes fiber content, care, and style information.
