- Landscape study of Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley at sunset. Above, clouds tinged in orange are suspended before the rich colored gradient of the twilight sky. Below, an inlet from the Hudson river comprises the foreground, where a row boat travels across its still surface at right. Tree trunk at lower left ackts as framing device.
