- Best known for his boldly patterned tapestries, Papa Ibra Tall played a leading role in establishing a modern art tradition in Senegal. He was both a teacher and a director of Senegal's sponsored art programs under President Senghor. This unusual and dynamic drawing conveys a sense of the horse's rhythmic movement and the flowing layers of the rider's clothing.
