- These horse racing silks were worn by American born jockey Steve Cauthen (b. 1960). Raised in Kentucky, Cauthen first raced professionally at Churchill Downs racetrack 1976. The following year, he led the nation in wins, becoming the first $6 million dollar jockey.
- In 1978, Cauthen became the youngest jockey to win the U.S. Triple Crown, riding the horse Affirmed.
- Cauthen was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey, Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year and the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award. He wasinducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1994.
- Cauthen finished his career with 2,794 victories.
