Hammerhead skateboard designed by Christian Hosoi
Object Details
- Description (Brief)
- White wooden laminate, Hammerhead double kick skateboard deck designed by Christian Hosoi in the 1980s. Hosoi is a professional skateboarder who was first sponsored by Powell Peralta in 1979. He left Powell to join Dogtown but after Dogtown went bust he joined Sims Skateboards. Hosoi skated vert with a grace and style that blew his competitors away. He formed his own company in 1984 and developed this Hammerhead design deck as his signature pro model. The cut aways at the top and bottom of the deck allowed for the grabs he was doing while riding vert and became instantly recognizable as an Hosoi board leading the new craze of deck design.
