- This radiator emblem belonged to a Graham-Paige brand automobile that was manufactured by the Graham-Paige Motors Corporation in Detroit, Michigan from 1930 until 1931. The company began manufacturing Graham-Paige automobiles in 1928, changing the car’s name to the Graham after 1930. This emblem has a stacked profile image of three knights at the top, with the text “GRAHAM/PAIGE” below. The knights are meant to represent the three Graham brothers who started the business.
- Radiator emblems are small, colorful metal plates bearing an automobile manufacturer's name or logo that attached to the radiators grilles of early automobiles. Varying in shape and size, the emblems served as a small branding device, sometimes indicating the type of engine, place of manufacturing, or using an iconic image or catchy slogan to advertise their cars make and model. This emblem is part of the collection that was donated by Hubert G. Larson in 1964.
