- Description
This German Scheitholt style zither was made by an unknown maker in the United States, undetermined date. It has a rectangular shaped body, with 6 metal tuning pins, 15 metal frets, 2 round sound holes, and a rounded head. There is an old tag kept with the dulcimer that reads:
"Antique Dulcimer"
Made in seventeenth century
exact date unknown.
Made of hand split oak.
Played with quill
Originally owned by Harris family of Appomattox.
