General Electric Company
Description (Brief)
G.E. glass bowl vacuum coffee maker. Has a metal and bakelite base and heater element. 7" in diameter. and 4" high. The bowls would sit on top of the base, one on top of the other. The upper bowl has a glass pipe about 5/8" diameter. running to the bottom of the lower bowl. Both bowls are about 7" diameter. and about 5 2/1" high. The bowls are made of pyrex glass. The base has tags with replacement part numbers, upper bowl is A8U, lower bowl is AD8L. "Built by General Electric Co., Bridgeport Conn. Ontario Calif. made in U.S.A. Cat. #139P8. Patents listed on bottom of heating element as follows: 1947274- Permanent magnet & method of making it (1934) - GE; 1968569 - Permanent magnet & method of making it (1934) - GE; 2027994- Magnet steel containing nickel and aluminum (1936)- Japan (Tokushichi Mishima); 2027996 - Strong permanent magnet with cobalt (1936) - Japan (Tokushichi Mishima); 2027997 - Permanent magnet containing copper (1936)-Japan (Tokushichi Mishima); 2137884- Coffee maker handle (1938)- GE; 2192743 - Sintered permanent magnet (1940) - GE; 2192744 - Sintered permanent magnet (1940) - GE; 2284359 - Coffee maker (1942) - GE; 2287580 - Coffee maker (1942) - GE; 2287582- Cover structure {for coffee maker} (1942)- GE; 2287883 - Switch control device (1942) - NY (David P.
