- Summary
- Four mythological female figures, painted black, are placed surrounding a Hebe fountain. All are seen standing, in classical dress. Flora's proper left arm is extended at chest level. She holds a small basket of flowers in her proper right hand. Ceres is seen with upraised proper right hand, as if shading her eyes. She holds a sheaf of wheat in her proper left arm. Her proper left hand may originally have held something else, now missing. Pomona is seen holding a plate of fruit at waist level. Melpomene holds a small mask in her proper left hand and clasps a cloak she has draped over her upper body.
