Object Details
- Description
- A black and white photograph of a grand, rectangular, four-story building, viewed from a sideways angle, such that the front and the side of the building appear on a slant. The bottom story of the right side is formed from an open colonnade of repeating archways, the second story is a row of sixteen regtangular windows each split in two, the third story is the widest with eight tall arch-framed windows, the final story is narrower with eight rectangular windows, each split into three by curved arches. The left side of the building protrudes and is made up of three wider stories, the first a layer of brick with three doors, the second an open colonade with five arches, and the top, a two-tiered section framed by five arches, and topped with a triangular pediment. The roof is marked by a rectangular balustrade that runs around the top. Horses and carriages and pedestrians scuttle to and fro in the foreground, with large trees and other buildings in the background.
