Description: Leather football with Princeton-22 painted in black, Dartmouth-7 painted in green and 1912 painted in black on the front face of the football. The back of the football has the logo for Spalding and Official Intercollegiate stamped. Thus ball was given to T.T. Pendleton while captain of the 1912 Princeton Eleven. T.T was a 1910 All American Halfback at Princeton and a star member of the 1911 Princeton National Championship team. The 1912 football season saw several important rule changes, such as, teams were given 4 downs instead of 3, touchdowns increased from 5 points to 6 points, the field was reduced from 110 yards to 100 yards and 10 yard end zones were added. There were 76 teams that participated in the 1912 season and the champions were the Harvard Crimson.; The game between Princeton and Dartmouth occured on October 26, 1912. Princeton (undefeated at 6-0-0) hosted undefeated Dartmouth (5-0-0). Princeton would win 22-7 to set up another undefeated matchup against Harvard on November 2, 1912. The Crimson would win that game by a score of 16-6. Princeton would have their guard Stan Pennock honored as an All-American for the 1912 season. Dartmouth would have their tackle Wesley Englehorn honored as an All-American.
