Summary

This is an unused flying model rocket launch controller made by Model Products Corporation during the 1960s. One wire leading from it ran to a power supply, and the other to the igniter in the model rocket motor. Once the operator pressed the firing button on the panel, the electrical power would then heat the igniters which in turn would cause the propellant in the motor to ignite and lift the model rocket. G. Harry Stine, one of the American pioneers in the field of flying rocket and missile models, donated this artifact to the museum in 1973.
