- Description
- A fantastical garden scene framed by a cartouche with two musicians in Chinese style dress in the center and chinoiserie style motifs. A seated male figure to the left plays a stringed instrument, possibly a mandolin, and a standing male figure to the right plays a horn which wraps around the back of his head. Rococo ornament frames them within a cartouche made up of scrolling leaves, shells, flowers, trees, a dragon, two birds, and c-scrolls. In the foreground, a parasol, and a tambourine. The plate is signed and numbered.
