This collection is based on the art workshop given at the Asmara School of Art by Betty LaDuke on Dec. 13-14, 1995 and some materials from a art workshop and art exhibit given in 2002.

Summary

This collection highlights the relationship between art, war and peace as seen through the work of Eritrean artists and in some cases artist-fighters. It includes: the worhshop brochure, an introductory letter from Betty LaDuke, dated April 3, 2003 (3 leaves), photocopy of an article from Africanwatch (Mar./Apr. 2000) and other articles related to the workshops. It includes portraits and interviews of the following artists, who attended the worksop, and photographs of some of their works: Jacob Abraha, Berhane Abra, Woldu Afworki, Mussie Estafanos, Tsghereda Estifanos, Tedros Gitnsae, Aferwerki Haile, Anghesom Haile, Josief Idris, Terhas Iyassu, Elsa Jacob, Demoz Russom, Abraham Mogos, Haile Michael Ogbu, Michael Adonai, Mebrahtu Teklay, Fessahaie Zemichael, Tsegay Asghedom, Iyob Araya, Frewenghel Gitatios, Mussie Tekle Haille, Ghirmai Yohannes, Eyob Meharene, Mussa Asgodam, Danny Dafla, Haile Berhe, Isack Fasil, Kiros Abebe, Emenet Shumendi Testa, Fatuma Suleiman, Zaid Berhane.
