- These vacuum tubes are similar to those used in the ENIAC. This group was sent by the U.S. Army to the Smithsonian for use in the display of the ENIAC. The tubes fit into the ENIAC sockets. However all of them were made after the ENIAC was no longer in service, and therefore none could have been used in the ENIAC while it was in operation. The museum has retained them for display purposes.
