English Single Manual Harpsichord

- Description (Brief)
- This harpsichord was made by an unknown maker possibly England, in the 19th century. It is a single manual harpsichord with a compass of GG - g3 (no GG#), and a disposition of 2 x 8’, with two handstops. The harpsichord has a spruce soundboard, and ebony naturals and ivory topped accidentals. The name board, a later addition, is inscribed: “Italian Harpsichord circa 1665, Maker Unknown.“ This instrument appears to be Italian in style that has been shortened.
- The case is made from stained walnut with hinges and a lock plate made from iron. The trestle stand has a drawer with an iron lock plate.
