- Description
- Horizontal rectangle. Designs for silver serving pieces decorated with female masks from which a bunch of grapes and leaves are suspended. Medusa masks, serpents, and mouldings form the primary decorative motifs. Identifying captions accompany each illustration. In the top row, from left to right: a soup bowl and its plate, the inscription "Zappiera" above and "Piatto" below; a tray with a bottle cooler and four glasses, the inscription "Vaso p[er] Bottigha e Porta bichiere / sotto da Dismetere" above; a coffee pot shown in profile, the handle formed by a snake, the inscription "Caffeteria" above; an ovoidal soup bowl with ovoidal plate, the inscription "Terina" above and "Piatto" below. Center row, from left to right: a salt bowl with the spoon shown over it, the inscription "Salziera" above; an oil cruet with two bottles, the inscription "Portaglio" above; a round tureen with spoon above, the inscription "Sgommvaello [?] / Tazza zil Poncio" surrounding the spoon; a plate, the inscription "Tondino" at center; a plate warmer, the inscription "Scaldavivande" above. At bottom center, a salt bowl, the inscription "Salziera" above.
