- Description
- Vertical rectangle. Design for a candlestick, the base supported by two crouching lions. The foot consists of scrolls beside a central pedestal, upon which the allegorical figure of Hope sits at left, Faith at right. The knob with two prophets is supported by the symbols of the Evangelists and is drawn upon a piece of paper separately mounted to the primary support. Around a smaller second knob is a frieze with Christ and the Apostles. The socket is supported by a baluster, from which hang garlands. Burning candle at top. At bottom, scale with inscriptions.
