- An inscription on this metal can reads in part “DEATH DUST” and “A. C. MEYER & CO. / BALTIMORE, MD.” Adolph Carl Meyer (1852-1914) was born in Bremen, emigrated to the United States in 1869, and settled in Baltimore. In 1877, after having spent several years working in pharmacies, he established A. C. Meyer & Co., offering supplies for druggists and grocers.
