- Description
- Alfonso Carrasquel Colón, known professionally as Chico Carrasquel, was born in Venezuela, and played shortstop in Major Leage Baseball in the United States for the Chicago White Sox (1950–1955), Cleveland Indians (1956–1958), Kansas City Athletics (1958) and Baltimore Orioles (1959). The stellar feilder was the first player from Latin-America to start an All-Star Game, participating in four of the mid-season contests.
