- Marvel's Captain Marvel, not to be confused with the similarly named Fawcett/ DC character, has been associated with a number of individual's within the Marvel universe. In this iteration, the Captain is pilot Carol Danvers, once known as the superheroMs. Marvel.
- Danvers/ Ms. Marvel was first introduced in Marvel Super Heroes No. 13 by Roy Thomas and Gene Colan. She assumed the title of Captain Marvel in DeConnick's series, beginning in 2012.
- The character has been played by actress Brie Larson in the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including 2019's Captain Marvel.
