- From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Canopic jar (cast), 945-712 BC. Containers like this held the deceased's lungs, stomach, liver, and intestines. The lid represents one of the four sons of Horus - Qebehsenuef (falcon) - who stood guard over the organs.
