- Inscription: same as catalog number 289288 except first words are "The Osiris Duamutef" Jar 289289 is Duamutef. Correct lid is 289291.
- From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Canopic jar (cast), 945-712 BC. Containers like this held the deceased's lungs, stomach, liver, and intestines. The correct lid represents one of the four sons of Horus - Duamutef (jackal) - who stood guard over the organs.
