- Summary
- A young cadet in uniform and cap kneels on his proper left leg. His proper left hand rests on his proper right thigh, holding the point of a sabre. The proper right arm reaches forward, the hand holding the blade of the sabre just below the hilt. A dove is landing on the sword's pommel, bearing a small olive branch. On the ground, scattered around the youth's proper left knee, are four books, and a scabbard hangs off his proper left hip.
