- Description (Brief)
- This beloved hand puppet was regularly featured on the children’s television series Captain Kangaroo, which starred Bob Keeshan in the title role. Serious-faced Bunny Rabbit wore tiny red glasses, never spoke a word, and was perpetually on the prowl for carrots. The character, made of ecru-colored plush fabric, usually was instrumental in causing some kind of momentary disaster for the Captain. The puppet was designed and performed by Cosmo Allegretti, who also created the show’s other puppet figures, the goofy Mister Moose and benevolent Grandfather Clock.
