Bronze Figurine
Object Details
- Donor Name
- Capt. U S N William K. Latimer
- See p. 147 in the Second Bulletin of the Proceedings of the National Insitution for the Promotion of Science, March, 1841, to February, 1842, Washington, D.C. where it is noted that Latimer donated to the National Institute "Egyptian idols, from the tombs near the Pyramids." This is most probably referring to the Pyramids at Giza, the most famous of the pyramids, rather then the pyramids at Saqqara or other pyramid sites.
