- Clay: soft, grayish. Raku type.
- Glaze: deep green, crackled, with areas of iridescent copper and bronze. Lead glaze.
- Decoration: broadly incised. Two phoenixes.
- Signature. Inscription. Inscribed on unglazed bottom: Bunka juichi inu gogatsu/Hogean/Tokuzan [cipher].
