- Black Cat condoms were manufactured by Akwell Industries, Incorporated of Dothan, Alabama during the second half of the 20th century. The black box features an image of a cat with green eyes in gold outline. The back of the box describes the condom as an “Exciting prophylactic in deep black…to satisfy the exotic…to capture the mystique and intrigue of the night. For the Bold. For The Imaginative. For The Venturesome.”
