Obtained from Goyathlay (Geronimo, Chiricahua Apache, ca. 1825-1909) at the time of his surrender to Colonel Eugene B. Beaumont (1837-1916, U.S. Cavalry) in 1886; inherited by Colonel Beaumont's granddaughter, Margaret R. Elliott (1887-1976); purchased by MAI from Miss Elliott in 1963.
