- Landscape sketch showing a view of autumn foliage in the rolling terrain near the Green Mountains of Vermont. In the foreground, a brownish-green field extends to the middle distance, where a grove of trees is visible. One tree, at center left, in colored in bright red autumn hues and brightly stands out against the other dull vegetation. A heavily wooded mountain with twin, rounded summits rises in the background and forms an undulating horizon. They sky above is a muddled greyish-blue.
