- Description
- Landscape sketch showing a view of autumn foliage in the hills of Vermont. The foreground consists of a grassy field covered in shadow with a group of loosely rendered trees at left. In the middle distance at center, a yellow-orange tree is brightly illuminated at the base of a hill, which is heavily wooded with brown and orange trees. At left, beyond another, smaller red-orange tree, a distant hill range covered in dark trees forms a rolling horizon in the background. A hazy and cloudy sky is briefly visible above. Dark color palette overall, characterized by browns and muted oranges.
