Audacity Project
Object Details
- Description
- This drawing was created by Richard (Rip) Rapson, president of the Kresge Foundation, to help the board of directors conceptualize a new approach to the foundation’s work in Detroit. Rapson first drew a picture to help board members envision the topic they were discussing when the board was grappling with a challenging issue, and drawing became a standard part of his leadership practice. In this drawing, he sketched a vision for building an inclusive and economically vibrant Detroit in the years after the city’s 2013 bankruptcy and the “Grand Bargain” between state, municipal, and philanthropic stakeholders to get the city out of bankruptcy.
