- A silver cardboard box with two plastic windows. The upper right corner of the box has a brown image of the Spirit of St. Louis. The bottom of the box has a yellow box with an image of a pilot wearing a flight jacket, goggles and cap is shown giving the thumbs-up and looking over his shoulder. A red and white striped line runs horizontally across the box.
- The lighter is a silver metal Zippo style with red lettering "N-X-211" A pattern of red circles and lines runs along the surface of the lighter. The ashtray is silver metal dish with four recesses for cigarettes. The bottom of the dish has a stamped image of the Spirit of St. Louis with "Spirit of St. Louis New York-Pairs May 21, 1927" below the airplane.
- Summary
- On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
