- Portrait of Mrs. Thomas Eakins (1851-1938) seated in a Philadelphia Queen Anne Style chair, her hands resting on an open book in Japanese, their setter dog Harry reclining on the floor next to her. She wears a blue silk empire style dress, red stockings, and black slippers. The interior setting is the artist's studio at 1330 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. Eakins's relief of Arcadia hangs on the wall to the right. Several canvases rest on a desk to the left.
