- 25288 ACC. NUMBER. ALSO 3140 AND 3797 - BOX OF SOIL, BONES AND TOOTH, STONE - 'UNALASKA'.
- Five objects: 2 pieces of corroded iron knife (63.5 mm long by 2.9 cm wide and 52.5 mm long by 1.82 cm wide); 1 piece of ground and polished bone implement (57 mm long); 1 animal tooth resembling a canine of a canid; and 1 glassine envelope labeled "residue of AT06381" containing soil and calcined bone fragments. Also in this envelope was a Smithsonian label with number "3140, Sitka, June 10, 1880" written in black ink. The label is printed with USNM Exploration in Alaska T.H. Bean. This tag was determined from the ledger to belong with E46347, a dish from Sitka, and the tag was physically reunited with that object. We have no reason to suspect the soil, calcined bone or other items were associated with the dish.
