- Scope and Contents note
- Millais thanks Bryden for his letter, mentions a gazelle picture "certainly spring buck is a gazelle", complains that a working holiday has been stopped again by the arrival of proofs of his last two chapters, and giving an account of the news he has heard from Sir Edmund Lodder's [i.e., Loder's?] hunting trip: "... amongst others he was lucky to kill 5 of the rare Beira antelope, till now, though banned, unshot by any European. In four months he has got everything, even rhinoceros, lion and one elephant."
