- The document contains such information and copies of letters as: "Daily rates (of rations), European provisions for six months"; letters of instruction from Barttelot to Jameson and other members of the expedition including Troup, Ward, and Bonny; "Proposals placed before the European officers of the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition at Yambuya camp"; draft contract concerning the supply of native porters, etc. Much of the material was used in W.G. Barttelot's "The Life of Edmund Musgrave Barttelot ... commander of the Rear Column."
