- In most instances exhibition records for each exhibit are divided into three sub-groups: 1) research records; 2) administrative records; and 3) photographs and transparencies. The research records consist of preparatory material compiled for the exhibition catalog and/or exhibition, as well as bibliographies, biographies, chronologies, and research correspondence concerning the artist and his work. Administrative records include in-house memoranda, lists, forms, loan correspondence, and notes pertaining to the handling, placement, security, and display of the exhibited material. The photographs and transparencies include display items on exhibit, documentary photographs, and installation photographs.
