- Scope and Contents
- This series comprises materials relating to Ralph and Rose Solecki's excavations at Shanidar Cave and Zawi Chemi Shanidar sites from 1951-1960 as well as subsequent analyses. The analytical and administrative files relating to the excavations date between 1951 and 2017 with the bulk dating from 1951-1990. Included are field notebooks of the Soleckis and their students, field and artifact catalogs, field and artifact data cards, research files, drafts and manuscripts, publications, correspondence, maps of the sites and geographical region in Iraq, illustrations of artifacts and site sequencing, and photographs and slides of Shanidar Cave, Zawi Chemi Shanidar, and other locations in Iraq.
