- This series comprises materials relating to Ralph and Rose Solecki's excavations and analyses of Yabroud Shelter I and Shelter IV sites in 1963-1964, as part of the Columbia Near Eastern Expedition (C.U.N.E.), and in 1988-1989 and their travels in other locations in Syria as well as their reappraisal of previous excavations at the Yabroud Shelter I site by archaeologist Alfred Rust (1900-1983). Material from 1963 excavations at the Suberde site in Turkey is also present. The analytical and administrative files relating to the excavations date between 1950 and 2018 with the bulk dating from 1964-1988. Included are field notebooks of the Soleckis and their students, field and artifact catalogs, field and artifact data cards, research files, drafts and manuscripts, publications, correspondence, maps of the sites and geographical region in Syria, illustrations of artifacts and site sequencing, and photographs and slides of Yabroud Shelter I and Shelter IV and other locations in Syria and Suberde, Turkey.
