- Folio 7 recto, 4th photograph; A photograph of dignitaries patiently waiting to welcome their American guests. Important dignitaries include US Min. Lloyd C. Griscom, Consul Gen. H.B. Miller, and representatives of the Japanese Imperial household, Foreign Office, War Dept., and Asiatic Society. Earlier in 1905, Japan had won a war against Russia and were intent on forming a strong alliance with the US. This photo was taken on the 25th of July, 1905.
