- Scope and Contents
- Afrikaan Digger, 1948. Photographic image of an old man wearing a hat and glasses. He is standing behind a homemade wood construction. This diamond mining set-up is typical of the river diggers, which contrast between the modern and complicated machinery of the De Beers Mines in Kimberley. This is the diamond digging area called "Nooitgedacht," twenty miles outside of Kimberley. The De Beers Company issues licenses to the individual diggers. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1948.
- There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print for reference purposes.
