Scope and Contents: Kimberly Diamond Digger, 1948. Photographic image of a man stnading on a dirt hill. He is shading his face with his hand. This is one of the many diggers in an area called "Nooitgedacht," twenty miles outside of Kimberley. The De Beers Company issues licenses to the individual diggers .Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1948.; There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print for reference purposes.; This image was found among the Johhannesburg Black South African series and has been catalogued in that sequence. However, the images themselves were taken during the Kimberley Diamond Mines shoot and should be viewed in relation to this shoot.
