- Scope and Contents
- Transkei Man Building Homestead, 1947. A man is bending over and sticking his arm in a deep bowl. There is another bowl next to it and a bundle of grass twined together. There is a homestead behind him. Transkei homesteads are usually circular and built by interweaving rods and twigs and overlaying it with clay. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1947.
- In 1947, Constance Staurt Larrabee visited the Transkei. She was there researching the housing problems in Southern Africa.
- There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print and 6x6 contact print for reference purposes.
