- Scope and Contents
- 'These hunters are so fond of forest life that we say: 'Igbe ni gboro ode'. The forest is the hunter's town centre. Hunters exploit the occasion of disputes as to who actually makes a kill of a game animal to educate themselves on moral and ethical issues which go a long way to strengthen the individual's moral instinct which he uses to influence the people with whom he comes in contact." [Bade Ajuwon: The Yoruba Hunter as an Agent of Moral Control in the community. Nigerian Journal of the Humanities. No. 4 September 1980]. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
