- Scope and Contents
- "Oja Iba market is perhaps best known as a night market, but one part of it is an all-purpose day market, including a large section for goats, sheeps and hens. The Oja Iba market is similar to the Sango cattle market, which is also a specialized daily market monopolized by Hausa elements in the population. Sango cattle market is the point at which cattle are received from the north for distribution in and around Ibadan." [Hodder B., 1967: The Markets of Ibadan, The City of Ibadan. Cambridge University Press]. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
