- The photograph depicts the interior of home of Achwad Baleb Youssef. During his trip to Egypt, Elisofon visited the town of El Haisa, overlooking former Philae Island in Nile River; most monuments and houses (including Achwad's family house) were partially flooded with construction of old Aswan Dam & Aswan High Dam. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was working on "The Nile" project and traveled to Africa from March 14, 1961 to March 31, 1961, visiting Egypt.
