- The photograph depicts a Presentation of Mary associate peeling manioc tubers. "The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary are women called to live in community the fullness of their baptismal consecration, by sharing in the teaching mission of the church, and by responding to the Gospel challenge that impels them to serve the needs of the poor." During his trip to Congo (now Democratic Republic of Congo), Elisofon visited Beni and the Semliki River, near Lake Albert. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
